Mrs Naledi Pandor, Minister of Science and Technology will officially launch the National Science Week on the 28 of July 2012 at the University of Johannesburg and will be running from the 30th of July to the 4th of August 2012. This initiative is aimed at showing the young people of this country how important is science in our everyday lives ,to seek opportunities in the science field and to contribute in improving the economic growth as this years theme is "The role of science in economic development."
More than fifty organisations will be present at the launch and will be showing the role of science in their daily lives and the department has partnered wit the SABC radio and television to broadcast the event for those that will not be able to attend this event.
